Clinical expertise

Mr Gerald Gui is a leading consultant breast surgeon. He specialises in all aspects of breast surgery, including breast reconstruction, oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery, and the early diagnosis of breast cancer. His practice also focuses on genetic and familial risk management for individuals with an increased risk of developing breast cancer.

Training and qualifications

Having graduated from University College and Middlesex Hospital Medical School in 1986, Mr Gui undertook higher surgical training in surgical oncology at St Bartholomew’s and St George’s Hospitals, followed by further specialist training in both the UK and the USA.

He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1990 and of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1991. He was later awarded a Travelling Fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons, which included time at Emory University in Atlanta, USA. In 1996, he obtained a Master of Surgery (MS) degree from the University of London.

Since then, Mr Gui has held a long-standing appointment as Consultant Surgeon at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, where he continues to work alongside his private practice.

 

Teaching and training

Deeply committed to surgical education, Mr Gui is a teacher and examiner at the University of London and contributes to postgraduate training courses for advanced breast surgery trainees at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He also leads breast reconstruction masterclasses at The Royal Marsden, regularly attended by surgeons from across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.

Research and professional associations

Mr Gui is an honorary senior lecturer at the Institute of Cancer Research in London and is actively involved in breast cancer research, with more than 100 published manuscripts to his name. He is a member of several professional organisations, including:
