Specialist care and personalised treatment

While finding a lump in your breast can feel alarming, it’s important to remember that most breast lumps turn out to be benign (non-cancerous), and many don’t need urgent treatment. That said, it’s always best to have any changes checked by a specialist for reassurance and, if necessary, quick next steps.

As mentioned, the vast majority of breast lumps are not cancer. Common causes can include fibroadenomas (firm, smooth lumps), cysts (fluid-filled sacs), and lumps that are the result of natural hormonal changes. Even though most lumps are harmless, getting them assessed is important to rule out anything that does need attention.

Besides feeling a lump, it’s good to watch for other changes such as skin dimpling, nipple discharge, or changes in breast shape or size. If anything feels different or unusual, don’t wait – we’re here to offer expert support and peace of mind, or a fast pathway to the treatment you need.

We’ll usually start with a physical exam and an ultrasound or mammogram. If needed, we may take a small sample (biopsy) to look at the cells under a microscope. These tests are quick and straightforward – in most cases we can carry them out on the day of your appointment – and they help to give us the clarity we need to advise you confidently.

Many benign lumps can simply be monitored and require no treatment. However, if  a lump is causing discomfort or looks suspicious, we might recommend removing it.

If it turns out to be cancerous, we can help. Our highly experienced team will guide you through every step of treatment, making sure you’re fully informed at every stage and completely comfortable with your personalised treatment plan.
