Breast implant augmentation
Expert advice, fully personalised care
Breast implant augmentation is, as the name suggests, a procedure to enhance the size and shape of the breasts with implants. People choose this for a variety of reasons. Some want to increase their breast size, others may wish to restore fullness after pregnancy or weight loss, or to achieve better balance and symmetry following surgery. For some, it can be part of a broader plan for breast reconstruction.
Whatever your reason, our team is here to support your decision with honest advice, expert care and thoughtful guidance.
Breast implant augmentation is an option for anyone who would like fuller breasts, improved shape, or better balance in their figure. It may also be suitable if you’ve experienced a loss of breast volume after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or a significant change in weight. Some people also choose augmentation to correct uneven breasts or as part of reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy.
Breast implant augmentation is usually performed under general anaesthetic. The implant is carefully placed either behind the breast tissue or beneath the chest muscle, depending on your needs and preference. We’ll discuss implant type, size, and placement with you beforehand to make sure you feel comfortable with your choice.
After the procedure, we’ll give you advice on wound care, activity levels and recovery. We’ll also arrange check-ups to monitor your healing and answer any questions you may have during the recovery process. If you’re considering any adjustments or additional procedures later on, we can guide you through those options, too.
As with any surgery, there are some risks. That can include bruising, swelling or temporary changes in sensation. There may also be risks specific to implants, such as capsular contracture (a tightening around the implant), shifting or a risk of rupture over time. These risks are uncommon, but we’ll take the time to talk them through with you in detail so you can feel confident about your decision and your recovery.
