Gynaecomastia surgery
Restoring confidence with personalised care
Gynaecomastia surgery is a procedure to reduce excess male breast tissue, often caused by hormonal changes, certain medications, or no clear reason at all. While not usually harmful, gynaecomastia can affect confidence and comfort. Surgery offers a long-term solution, helping restore a flatter, more contoured chest and giving you more confidence in your body.
Whatever your circumstances, we’re here to listen, advise, and guide you through the process with understanding and expertise.
This procedure is typically recommended for men who have persistent or noticeable breast tissue that doesn’t improve on its own, or causes discomfort – whether that’s physical, emotional, or both. It can affect teenagers, adults, or older men, and surgery can be a positive option at any age.
The surgery is usually done under general anaesthetic. It may involve liposuction to remove fatty tissue, direct excision to remove glandular tissue, or a combination of both. The goal is a natural-looking, flatter chest contour that suits your body shape.
After surgery, you’ll be given clear post-operative guidance on recovery and physical activity. You may be asked to wear a soft compression garment for a short period to help reduce swelling and support healing. We’ll check in regularly to ensure you’re recovering well and feeling confident with your results.
Mild swelling, bruising or temporary numbness is common, but these usually settle within a few weeks. Most patients are very happy with the outcome and find that their confidence improves significantly.
